Discover Warung Madeley

If you’re driving along Prindiville Drive in Wangara and feeling hungry, Warung Madeley at 33 Prindiville Dr, Wangara WA 6065, Australia, is the kind of place that quietly wins you over. I first stopped by on a weekday lunch break after hearing a few glowing reviews from local tradies and office workers. From the outside, it looks simple and unpretentious. Step inside, though, and the aroma of freshly cooked Indonesian dishes instantly tells you you’ve made a solid choice.

The menu is packed with comforting classics-think nasi goreng, mie goreng, satay skewers, and hearty rice plates topped with crispy chicken or tender beef rendang. On my first visit, I ordered the nasi campur, a mixed rice plate that gives you a bit of everything. The sambal had just the right kick, not overpowering but enough to wake up your taste buds. The chicken was juicy inside with a crisp outer layer, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, still vibrant and slightly crunchy. It reminded me of meals I’ve had in Bali, where balance between spice, sweetness, and savory depth is key.

Food safety and freshness matter to me, especially when reviewing a restaurant. Australia has strict guidelines through Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), and it’s reassuring to see how seriously this diner takes hygiene. The kitchen area, visible from parts of the counter, looks organized and clean. Ingredients taste fresh, and nothing feels reheated or tired. That attention to detail builds trust, particularly in a casual setting.

One thing that stands out about Warung Madeley is consistency. I’ve visited three times now-once for lunch, once for a casual dinner with friends, and once for takeaway. Each time, the flavors were on point. Consistency is often what separates a good local eatery from a great one. According to hospitality research published by Restaurant & Catering Australia, repeat customers are strongly influenced by consistent food quality and service. Based on my experience here, it’s easy to see why this place earns loyal regulars.

Portion sizes are generous without being excessive. If you’re someone who works in the industrial area nearby, you’ll appreciate a meal that actually fills you up. Prices are reasonable too, especially considering the quality and portion size. In a time when dining out costs are steadily rising across Western Australia, finding value like this feels refreshing.

Service is another highlight. The staff are friendly in a natural, no-fuss way. On my second visit, I asked about the spice level of a particular dish, and the server explained exactly how it’s prepared and even suggested a milder alternative for my friend who doesn’t handle heat well. That kind of honest guidance shows real product knowledge and care. It’s not scripted hospitality; it feels genuine.

The location in Wangara makes it especially convenient for locals and workers in the area. Parking is straightforward, and the diner has a relaxed, casual vibe. It’s not fancy, and it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it focuses on doing simple things well-good food, fair pricing, and reliable service. The seating is comfortable enough for a quick bite or a laid-back meal without feeling rushed.

Online reviews reflect a similar story. Many customers praise the authentic flavors and generous servings. While every restaurant will have occasional mixed feedback-often about peak-time waiting periods-the overall sentiment is strongly positive. From what I’ve seen, busy lunch hours can mean a short wait, but that’s usually a sign the kitchen is cooking to order rather than relying on pre-made trays.

If you’re exploring Indonesian cuisine for the first time, this is a welcoming place to start. The menu descriptions are clear, and the staff are happy to explain dishes. If you’re already familiar with Southeast Asian flavors, you’ll likely appreciate the authenticity and balance here. Either way, Warung Madeley delivers a satisfying experience grounded in fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and everyday reliability that keeps people coming back for another plate of nasi goreng or a comforting bowl of noodles.

  • Tried the Nasi Padang here and it was seriously delicious! The rendang was rich and flavorful, the potato balado had a nice balance of spice and the sambal tied everything together beautifully. It felt like a warm hug away from home ???????? Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indonesian flavors in Perth.

  • I really enjoyed dining at Warung Madeley. The chicken curry was absolutely delicious, especially with its perfectly tender texture. The rendang was also amazing, with the spices deeply infused into the meat. On top of that, the service was warm and friendly, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll come back to!

  • Warung Madeley Indonesian Cuisine has been my go-to place ever since it opened! I come here almost every weekend because it’s the first authentic Indonesian food so close to my house. Every dish is absolutely delicious and tastes just like home. The portions are generous and great value for the price, and the warm, friendly atmosphere makes it even better. Highly recommend to anyone craving real Indonesian food!

  • I couldn’t recommend this enough! The best Bebek Madura I have ever tasted! I don’t mind driving all the way from Cockburn just for this! My friend enjoyed the Bakso (meatballs soup) and Nasi Padang is one of their favourite dishes.

  • Walked past this stall many many times before on the way to Syiok Kopitiam. Today with Syiok closed for school holidays, decided to try it out. Took the Nasi Padang option which is with the steamed white rice with 2 meats & 1 veg for $20. Selected Beef Rendang, Chilli Beef and Chilli Potato as the veg. Everything tasted superb! A lot of love has gone into cooking each dish & a lot of spices! The beef rendang was soft and tender, same as the chilli beef. All had their own very distinctive flavours, not overpowering but so delicious. The chilli potato was the same, one could just eat this with rice with nothing else! Also ordered a vegetable fritter and a Perkedel (a fried potato patty). Both very delicious as well! Found out later that their house special was the fried duck ao will try that another day. Would say that chefs here have not scrimped on using spices as this is one of the most flavourful Indonesian meals I have had in Perth. Now for the reason for 4 stars instead of five. The portion can be deemed on the small side. The potato dish as a vegetable saw me served with 3 pieces of potato before I asked for more & was given another 2 pieces. Did mention this later on to one of the owners and they were apologetic about this. Even gave me 2 vegetable fritters for this. Bottom line is I will come back without hesitation any day because the dishes are so delicious here. Hope they will keep up their high standard I experienced today for downline.
